We are no longer making or selling holsters. I started making holsters some time around 2000 and in a few short years grew to a point where I needed assistance. This is where Mike Scharf came into play. Mike was an exceptional man and an even better business partner. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him or think about him. I am a better man for knowing him. To all of you who purchased our holsters for 15 years I offer my gratitude. Thank you. You provided a demand met by Mike, and Mike enjoyed crafting your order (and chatting with you on the phone).

Going forward JSHolsters, LLC will go dormant with no business activity. It's been a great run, thanks again!

In loving memory of Mike Scharf

July 2015 - It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Mike Scharf. Many of you came to know Mike as that wonderful man with whom you would speak about your order or your replacement for a cracked holster. Mike has been the hands on portion of our operation for 10+ years. But more than being a gifted craftsman, Mike was my friend. We spoke daily for upwards of an hour in the evening and rarely about business. On days when I couldn't reach Mike I would contact a neighbor to check in on him. That same neighbor called me to advise of Mike's departure in the ambulance after collapsing while out for a walk. Mike loved to walk and hike and had a standing date every day to do so just as we would have that evening phone call.

I miss him already and I spoke with him just hours before his passing. I feel an immense amount of grief and loss. Mike was the father that I never had and I told him this as often as I said the words "I love you." I still love Mike and he is a dear part of my family.

While we initially mourn the loss of Mike, we will eventually celebrate the gain from having experienced him in our lives. The journey from mourning to celebrating differs from person to person, I pray that our journey is short. I take comfort knowing that the grief surrounding Mike's death is the measure of true and unconditional love. As hard as it is to experience, it's a blessing to have people like Mike in your life that you can love that much.

As I type this I have tears streaming down my face. I have lost a beloved friend. But a part of Mike will always be with me as he touched my life and the life of my wife and children. Rest in peace brother.

There is no graceful way to transition from a eulogy to business but here goes. If you have a pending order I will be reaching out to you to arrange for a refund. I am uncertain as to the future of our holster operations. For now we will grieve and take comfort knowing that Mike is in a better place.

Thank you for your understanding.
